Frequently asked questions.
For Employers
1. What types of roles do you help fill?
We focus on filling roles in hospitality, logistics, production, manufacturing and service industries. These positions are typically hard to fill locally, and our candidates are carefully matched to meet your needs.
2. How long does it take to hire an international candidate?
The immigration process begins once the employer issues a mediation letter to sponsor the employee. Following this, the employee must attend an immigration appointment either in their home country or in Lithuania.
Typically, it takes 45-60 days for an expedited application and 90-120 days for standard processing to issue a temporary residence permit. For the most current processing times, please refer to the MIGRIS website.
Our team is committed to ensuring a streamlined and efficient process to meet your staffing needs promptly.
3. How do you ensure candidates are qualified and trustworthy?
We conduct thorough background checks, verify work histories, and obtain references to ensure candidates are skilled and reliable. Additionally, we have local partners in various countries who assist with the vetting process.
4. What if there are language barriers in the workplace?
Many of our candidates are enthusiastic about learning and adapting to new languages. With Lithuania's high English proficiency—particularly among younger generations—incoming employees will find integration smoother and more accessible.
Additionally, we recommend pairing new hires with Lithuanian-speaking staff to further support a seamless transition into the workplace
5. How do you handle cultural differences?
We focus on sourcing candidates from culturally compatible regions and provide guidance for smoother integration into Lithuanian workplaces. Many candidates adapt well to new environments, contributing to a positive and cohesive workplace.
6. What is the average cost savings from hiring through The Global Connection Jobs?
Relying on temp agencies or waiting indefinitely for a 'perfect' candidate can result in high costs and lost opportunities. Unfilled roles or frequent turnover cut deeply into revenue, while hiring skilled foreign workers can increase efficiency and reduce overhead costs.
Many businesses see a 5-10% revenue boost when they address these gaps, filling roles with long-term hires who are motivated, reliable, and committed to growth. Investing in a stable workforce now means a stronger, more resilient business tomorrow.
7. Can you help with legal and immigration requirements?
Absolutely. We manage work authorization and ensure compliance with local migration regulations, saving you time and legal expenses. Our team works closely with candidates to help them prepare the required paperwork for their MIGRIS appointment, providing ongoing support with immigration documentation to ensure a seamless hiring process from start to finish.
8. How long are contracts typically for foreign hires?
Our candidates typically commit to the maximum two-year contracts allowed, providing both stability and continuity for your business. This commitment reduces turnover, supports consistent productivity, and strengthens your return on investment by creating a dependable workforce.
9. What kind of support do you offer after hiring?
We act as a liaison between employers and employees, assisting with onboarding, workplace adaptation, and promoting job openings as needed.
10. What countries do you source employees from?
We connect Lithuanian businesses with skilled, English-speaking workers from all over the world. Our primary talent sources include candidates from many third-countries, including the Philippines, Malaysia, Turkey, India, South Africa, Thailand, Jamaica and Azerbaijan. With this diverse pool, we’re able to offer companies access to candidates who bring valuable international experience and adaptability to their roles, all while meeting Lithuania’s workforce needs in hospitality, logistics, and production industries.
